Quilling Workshop
July 31
10am
Quilling – first known as paper filigree – is the art of
rolling thin strips of paper, bending and molding them
into shapes, and then putting the shapes together to
form a design. Gigi Koehler will conduct a Quilling
Workshop in the Safrit Historical Center at the Beaufort
Historic Site 130 Turner Street on Thursday, July
31st at 10am. Limit 10 adults or children, ages 10
and up with a materials fee of $10 that is due July 24th.

Art Gallery Opening Reception
August 2
5pm to 7pm
An
opening reception for the Mattie King Davis Art Gallery
Featured Artist, Charles Sharpe, will take
place Saturday, August 2, from 5-7pm. Guests will have the
opportunity to view Sharpe's work
and enjoy light hors d’ oeuvres and beverages.
Tatting Workshop
August
7 10am
Tatting, a form of lace made by looping and knotting a
strand of heavy-duty thread on a small shuttle or
needle. As part of the Beaufort Historical Association’s
Living History series, Vivian McDonald will host a
workshop on this historic craft on Thursday, August 7th
at 10am in the Safrit Historical Center at the
Beaufort Historic Site 130 Turner Street. Limit 8
adults, with a material fee of $30 that is due July 31st.

Pine Needle Basket-
Two Week Workshop August 14th & 21st
10am
Keeping crafts and the way of life of the past alive is
a part of the educational mission of the Beaufort
Historical Association. Beginning at 10am on August
14th and continue August 21st
, Martha Stephenson will conduct a workshop on the
centuries old folk art of Pine Needle basket making at
the Safrit Historical Center at the Beaufort Historic
Site 130 Turner Street. Limit 8 adults, with a material
fee of $35 that is due August 7th. (252) 728-5225
Scrimshaw Workshop
August 28th 10am
Scrimshaw is defined as carving or the
embellishment of ivory or bone. Yet, today's definition
would more likely be thought of as the intricate
incising or engraving of ivory to produce images of
unbelievable detail. Starting at 10am on Thursday,
August 28th guests will have the opportunity to
participate in the scrimshaw workshop led by volunteer,
Ed Bloxom. This installment of the BHA’s ongoing Living
History series will take place at the Safrit Historical
Center at the Beaufort Historic Site 130 Turner Street.
Limit 9 adults, or children over12 with parental
supervision. A material fee of $35 is due August 21st.

Membership Meeting / Volunteer Picnic
September 23 6:00 pm
Semi-Annual Membership Meeting plus a picnic with all
the trimmings to honor all those who volunteer for the
Beaufort Historical Association and its many events and
activities. There will be a very brief business which
includes the election of new Board of Governors members.
Fall Fundraising Party

Gala
fundraising party held in a beautiful Beaufort home
featuring the works of a selected artist. Artwork is
available for purchase. Admission charge.
Jumble Sale
November 22
9 am to 3 pm
The
Beaufort Historic Site turns into a community market
with art, handmade crafts, holiday gifts, pre-loved
treasures, antiques, clothing, food and much more. No
admission fee. Vendor information is available.

Community Thanksgiving
Feast November 23
11:30 to 1:00 pm
A
traditional turkey dinner is provided by some of the
area’s finest restaurants. Served at the Beaufort
Historic Site, dinners are available for take-out or to
enjoy under our tent. Admission Fee.
Coastal Carolina Christmas Walk
December 13 2 to 4:30 pm
The
Christmas Walk features open house tours of historic
Beaufort Bed and Breakfast Inns and the Beaufort
Historic Site buildings decorated in period fashion for
Christmas. A special narrated holiday bus tour through
the Historic District is available aboard the vintage
British double-decker bus. Period seasonal music can be
heard throughout the Historic Site. No admission charge
for Christmas Walk, fee for bus tour.
