Beaufort Old Homes Tour Selected
Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Event for June
The
Beaufort Historical Association proudly announces that
the 49th annual Beaufort Old Homes and Gardens Tour has
been selected as one of the Southeast Tourism Society's
Tops 20 Events for June 2009. This marks the eighth year
that the BHA's Old Homes and Gardens Tour and Antiques
Show and Sale has received this high honor.
Planning for the 2009 Beaufort Old Homes and Gardens
Tour and Antiques Show and Sale is well underway, with
several Beaufort homes already confirmed for the 2009
tour including the Robert Marshall home on Orange
Street, the Front Street home of Robin and Katherine
Team, the Dr. Bob Schmidt/David Rockenbaugh/David
Atkinsons home on the 800 Block of Ann Street, the home
of Lloyd and Mille Gurley at 116 Pollock Street, a 1940s
waterfront fish house owned by
Faye
Styron Brown, the circa 1840 Rev. Jones House at 819
Broad Street owned by Pam Cooper,
and the circa 1709
Hammock House, owned by Betty & Giles Cloutier.
“We are especially excited about this year’s event, as
2009 not only marks the tour’s 49th anniversary, but
also marks the 300th anniversary of the Town of
Beaufort,” says Tricia Morris, BHA Public Relations
Coordinator.
“In addition, we are fortunate enough, among the
phenomenal homes already signed on, to have Beaufort’s
Hammock House on the tour, as it is as old as the Town
of Beaufort itself, and fits perfectly in Beaufort’s
300th celebration.”
The 49th Annual Beaufort Old Homes and Gardens Tour and
Antiques Show and Sale is scheduled for June 26 - 28,
2009. The self-paced Old Homes and Gardens Tour runs
daily June 26 and 27, while the popular accompanying
Antiques Show and Sale runs three days on June 26, 27
and 28 at the Crystal Coast Civic Center. For additional
