A Shopping Smorgasbord: BHA Jumble Sale Brings an
Old-Fashioned Community Market to the Beaufort Historic
Site
The Beaufort Historical Association offers a shopper’s
smorgasbord at its annual Jumble Sale, 9am – 3pm,
November 21 on the grounds of the Beaufort Historic
Site. The Beaufort Historic Site, located in the 100
block of Turner Street, transforms into an old-fashioned
community market filled with vendors selling a wide
variety of items. Event-goers can expect to find
antiques and collectibles, fine art, pottery, handmade
jewelry, crafts, tag sale items, candles, books,
homemade food, and more. Held rain or shine, it’s a
great time to do holiday or anytime shopping, and to
find special bargains all in one location.
The Mattie King Davis Art Gallery, the oldest gallery in
Carteret County, is also open during the sale and the
arts and crafts of more than 100 regional artists in the
gallery.
“The Jumble Sale is a lot of fun for both vendors and
shoppers,” says BHA public relations coordinator, Brooke
Maharg. “It’s a great place to shop for one-of-a-kind
handmade items and gifts. Paired with the BHA’s
Community Thanksgiving Feast on Sunday, November 22, it
makes for a great autumn weekend in historic Beaufort.”
The Beaufort Historical Association Jumble Sale serves
as a fundraiser for the restoration and education
projects of the Beaufort Historical Association. For
